The Parenting P.D. Project

The Parenting P.D. Project is set to transform the landscape of early intervention parenting resources with the launch of a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering parents and educators to enhance children's mental well-being. Research has shown that the foundation of mental well-being lies in effective parenting, and childhood trauma can have lasting emotional consequences. However, there is a significant lack of early intervention parenting resources available to support parents in developing essential parenting skills.

The pain of not having access to such resources can lead to children not receiving the necessary guidance and support, potentially resulting in long-term emotional consequences that impact their mental well-being. To address this critical gap, the Parenting P.D. Project is introducing a free Parenting Toolkit designed to provide parents of early learner children with a basic parenting structure that is easy to implement.

"We believe that early intervention during parenting is key to reducing community health issues and improving the overall well-being of families," said the project lead. "Despite research showing the significant impact of early intervention, only a minimal percentage of the mental health budget is currently directed towards this crucial aspect of parenting."

The Parenting Toolkit is a comprehensive resource that equips parents with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance their parenting skills and create a nurturing environment for their children. By empowering parents with this essential resource, the Parenting P.D. Project aims to reduce community health issues by as much as 40%, making a significant difference in the lives of families across the UK.

In addition to the Parenting Toolkit, the project has developed an Educators Parenting PD Implementation Pack to support educators in implementing the initiative effectively. The Implementation Pack includes a total implementation plan, a project overview, staff professional development resources, media release drafts, and ideas for distribution to parents. By providing educators with the necessary guidance and resources, the Parenting P.D. Project ensures a holistic approach to supporting children's mental well-being.

The launch of the Parenting P.D. Project marks a significant milestone in the field of early intervention parenting resources, offering a unique opportunity for parents and educators to collaborate in creating a positive impact on children's mental well-being. With a focus on empowering parents and educators with the tools they need to support children effectively, the project is set to revolutionize the way early intervention parenting is approached in Australia.

Why Us?

We have spent the last 28 years researching, developing and providing early intervention mental health educational resources to all levels of education. For 9 of those years, we delivered Professional Development and 'The Amazing Brain Show' in Early Learning Centres across Australia.

Most recently, we have been delivering Parenting Education, as well as facilitating 'Circle of Security Parenting' particularly to parents who are mandated to do a parenting course during divorce proceedings.

Parenting is often a leading cause of family breakup. In these already stressful times, dysfunctional co-parenting can lead to domestic violence - and even more tragic outcomes.

It has been revealed that only 1% of the massive amounts of funding for mental health improvement is being spent on early intervention. We believe in taking proactive measures to avoid problems rather than dealing with their consequences later.
